Which birds out of the parrot type birds?
Posted by adminmake the loudest noise? and which are thsome of the quietest types (I know they are all reliativly noisy )
Im thinking the ones like Macaws, cockatoos, and conures are louder…and budgies …not sure which else are quieter in comparison? someone who has experience with different kinds please let me know.
I love the sound of Parrots , but my husband not so much, Thanks:)
knicks54 who said conures were quiet? reread:)
Parrotlets are one of the quieter birds. I recently got a parrotlet, and a big part of the appeal is that they're pretty much incapable of screeching as loud as many other birds. My last roommate had a budgie, and he'd screech so loud, the noise would go out her window and come in mine, and come through the walls.
I will say that my parrotlet can get a bit chattery, especially when he want attention, and will get a little loud every now and then, but most of the time it's just quiet chatter and chirps–never shrieking or screaming. I live in apartments, so a noisy bird would be a problem, but he's quieter than most of the birds I hear outside.
I did a ton of research on birds before choosing one, and I definitely recommend a parrotlet. They're playful, social, intelligent, small, cute as heck, quiet, and relatively easy to care for–and they can learn to speak. The one important thing to consider though is that they need LOTS of attention and interaction. They consider themselves a part of the family and demand to be treated as such.

military macaws are LOUD african grays have tiny sweet voices, quakers are a medium volume (not too annoying)… bronze-winged parrot are quiet to medium noise,
maximillions are real quiet
eclectus parrots are really quiet and very pretty
cockatiels would be a good compromise
