cockatiel birds

cockatiel birds…a bird lovers paradise

i have a lutino cockatiel but would like to get something like a grey parrot or cockatoo maybe even a macaw not sure just know im not giving up the bird i have now i would like to keep them in the same cage.
the cage is 7 feet high 5 feet wide and about 3 foot deep.
he is a very friendly bird loves on anything or anybody

bigger parrots such as the ones you named are probably the worst ones to have. Lorrikeets and other small parrots, conures etc would be fine. Also more cockatiels, budgies and even finches. If you do have your heart set on getting a larger bird, there is the option of removing to cockatiel to a smallr cage and then allowing the bigger bird to have the huge cage. Just a thought :)

Well that is an awesomely sized cage for your cockatiel! lol
you must love her very much!
haha. well your cockatiel is not the problem.
A Macaw would boot her out of that cage and would fight her for it, it would not stand to share a cage with a small tiel honestly.
And a Cockatoo! Forget about it. And Im just telling the truth.
And especially that these birds DO NOT even know each otehr is another thing! Even two tiels would fight if not brought up at the same time together! I would go for only about the size of a Conure but at least the cage is big enough so that they can have their own space.

    Good Luck!

    Wonderful cage you've got there.

You can always get other cockatiels. They're awesome birds in that, once they are hand-raised, they continue bonding with humans, and do not revert entirely to other birds.

I've never had problems keeping multiple cockatiels in a single cage. However, larger birds can hurt larger birds — not that they mean to or anything, but birds can get territorial and cranky, and a fit of pique from a larger parrot can kill a smaller bird; their beaks are VERY powerful!

Alternatively, consider getting a smaller cage for your cockatiel, and adopting an abused or abandoned parrot; if you google "parrot rescue", you should be able to find several of these sites.

it wouldnt be good if u mixed a cockatiel with larger birds becuase larger birds bite harder and can get territorial so u shouldnt mix them
    good luck :)

dont have your birds share a cage unless you purchased them together, i have heard and seen so many injuries from birds getting into fights. its awfull.

A larger parrot would more than likely injure your cockatiel if not worse. Either separate cages or just getting multiple cockatiels would be best.
